AUGUST - More than 40 members gathered at "Rowardennan," the home of
Annette and Bob Dwyer-Joyce, where they were issued with a map and clues, for a Walking Treasure Hunt around
Hutton Mount, ably planned by Ann and John Franey. We certainly saw how the other half lives(!!), while
enjoying a dry, warm day with a gentle breeze. As we made our way back to
Bob and Annette's a welcome tea was provided for us to enjoy in their
beautiful garden. Many grateful thanks must go to them for the use of
their house and garden, and for their involvement in this happy event, and
to Ann and John Franey for working so hard planning the route and clues which
tested our powers of observation (some of us were a bit imaginative
with our answers!). Thanks must also go to all those people who helped by
providing delicious cakes. We are fortunate to have so many splendid cooks
and so many lovely people in our U3A. Runners-up with 61 points out of a
possible 70 were Anita and Roger Butt and in first place, with just one
point more were Sheila Boar and Barbara Lemmon. (Report: Maureen Beale,

an hour of so of searching for clues members are pleased to relax with a

Tea and cakes were provided to the weary "Treasure Hunters"
who had spent a pleasant hour or so walking around Hutton Mount. Bob
