NOVEMBER - Social Secretary, Annette Dwyer-Joyce arranged an outing to this favourite with members that as always, lived up to expectations. The the rear section of the restaurant, consigned to our group, was filled to capacity. Almost 40 members enjoyed a three-course meal with a good selection for each course. Starters included marinated herring, asparagus soup, avocado, and paté. Main courses on offer were salmon on curried rice, beef mayonnaise, a vegetarian dish and their "famous" pies: trawler, chicken and chestnut, and steak and kidney. Deserts, followed by coffee, rounded off a fine meal and arriving home by around 10.15 all agreed that the evening was a great success. (Report and pictures: Brian Leith)
