NOVEMBER - Members enjoyed fun and games when they attended an evening of Crazy Whist at Shenfield Parish Hall recently. Keeping things under control was Tony Walker who organised the evening. After each game of whist, members were required to move around the hall depending on their success . . . or failure. During the interval a welcome supper consisting of a choice of three home-made soups, ham baguette and relish, followed by tea or coffee, was provided by Annette, and served by a team of helpers. At the end of play for the evening the first prize went to June Randall, with Jean Huggins finishing a proud last. There were many times during play when one or other of the members were quite bemused/confused and Tony was pressed to adjudicate and control the proceedings, though all agreed it was a lot of fun, even those who had never played whist before.
