JULY - The morning dawned bright and sunny and the forecast was for a dry day. Guests (around 70), started to arrive at Bob and Annette's around 3.30 pm and set themselves up with tables, chairs, drinks and nibbles in anticipation of the afternoon's entertainment which was provided by a local amateur group who performed a variety of songs and guitar pieces from the musicals to pop and jazz. During the interval food was provided by Mark and Leslie Jeans, regular providers of food at several previous functions organised by Annette. From memory this was probably the first Music in the Garden event that excluded rain. The weather was perfect right through to the finish at around 6.00 pm. Alan Braid thanked Annette for all the work that she had done in arranging this favourite among members. (Report and photos: Brian Leith)
