JANUARY - A grey, damp day greeted
more than 50 members, who boarded a coach which was to take them on the
first outing of the New Year. The destination was the White Horse public
house in Pleshey, a quiet village a few miles from Chelmsford, where lunch
was served. Considering our number, the friendly restaurant staff coped
with ease, and members enjoyed a three-course meal in this charming pub.
The chef and his wife, who own the pub, turned out (in drizzly rain), to
wave us all off. A good start to the year, and members are looking forward
to participating in more interesting and entertaining outings arranged, as
always, with her usual attention to detail, by Annette Dwyer-Joyce, the
Social Secretary. (Report
