OCTOBER - Seventeen members undertook a five-day break in Prague organised by Irene Briscoe. Members from Billericay, Shenfield and Brentwood U3As enjoyed fine weather with clear blue skies, which, says Irene, contrasted vividly with the bright red roofs of the city. Several excursions were on the itinerary, including a tour of Karlstein Castle (reached by horse-drawn carriages), a folk evening, and an evening river cruise with dinner on board included. The beauty of the city with scores of floodlit buildings was appreciated from the vantage point of the river. (Report: Brian Leith, Photos: Geoffrey Spratt, Drawings: Irene Briscoe)
