FEBRUARY - Close to 100 members assembled in the Shenfield Parish Hall for an afternoon's entertainment provided by the Time of Our Lives Music Theatre. Entitled "Cool Britannia," the group of four "players" sang a medley of songs and enacted mini playlets in the manner of old time music hall. Focusing on the idioms and egocentricities of the British throughout the years, the group delighted the audience with their often tongue-in-cheek portrayals of stiff upper-lippers and dim-but-nice types. Rounding the afternoon off, following the show, afternoon tea with a variety of sandwiches, and cakes and pastries was provided by Social Secretary Annette Dwyer-Joyce who arranged the whole event.
